This weekend I set myself the task to go out and shoot all the flowers in the garden. After almost two weeks of rain, it’s been a rather soggy affair. As I was squish-squashing around I was amazed to see HOW much is in flower. It was a true botanical pick me up! Of course many flowers are past their best but they make my heart sing. Wabi Sabi – there’s beauty in decay. Here’s what I found:

That’s 27 plants in flower, wow! ☺️ At the end of my tour the sun was peeping through the clouds as if she wanted to share my joy! I quickly picked some pansies for the vase, voilà! Happy Monday 🙂 Visit Cathy @Rambling in the garden to see what’s in flower in other parts of the world.

It’s a small world! Schöne Grüße aus Bernhardswald. 😃
Wow! All those flowers! How wonderful for you Annette! (And I was almost jumping for joy when I saw a Primula today! ) 😉 Flowers can be such a pick-me-up. A gorgeous little vase too. I hope these keep you smiling all week! 😃😃😃 Take care. xx
Doing my best, Cathy, but I doubt it’ll last that long, our politicians will make sure of that. 😅 It was such a surprise to find so much in flower. Spotted some primulas too here but actually they were already going over. My Magnolia stellata is opening, crazy thing. PS: Riedenberg in Stuttgart? Take care xx
Ah, my mistake! Riedenburg in Bayern.
My heart is singing too after seeing these gorgeous flowers in situ and in the vase. Love the scrumptious color of your Pelargonium sidoides. Take good care.
It’s one of my favourites, so delicate and fragile. Brought a pot into the conservatory as well 🙂 take care too xx
How pleasing to have so many flowers still blooming, I’m envious! Your vase is very sweet and cheerful. ❤
Thank you, Eliza, it’s been very mild up to now, so I’ll enjoy them while they last 🙂
Ah, so you DO have blooms, just not the seasonal winter ones! I don’t think I have 27 different things in bloom here, and it is no wonder your heart was singing! What a rich and fruity vase your pansies make 😊Best wishes to both of you
I was surprised myself, Cathy, just give it go. Lots of mine are actually plants that do flower in winter though 😉 violets are so charming, who could possibly resist 🙂
I do a Boxing Day count actually, and most years it probably mounts up to that sort of figure, but invariably more than I think its going to be
What riches! I was particularly surprised to see the Bulbine and Clematis flowers. You must have a wonderful micro-climate.
Hi Kris, the clematis is winter flowering and bulbine stop flowering in the heat of summer to start again when it gets cooler, it’s been mild so far thankfully
Liebe Annette, was für ein bunter Winterstrauss die Natur dir da zur Weihnacht schenkt. Geniesse die Pracht und die kommenden Festtage. Herzlichst!
Absolutely gorgeous especially the violet and the penstemon.
yes, I agree, and both unusual for December!
You have so many flowers in bloom! Your photography is beautiful. The last picture in particular is so gorgeous.
Thank you, Alicia, lovely to see you here 🙂
unglaublich!
Amazing number of flowers for December, I love pansies, wonderful to see them. Flowers make everything better.
Yes, they do make all the difference – I feel sorry for those without gardens especially this year.
That is an impressive collection of flowers. Are they all outside? I love pansies and those are a great colour and look wonderful in your vase.
yes, they are, we’re lucky as it’s been fairly mild up to now. love pansies too 🙂
How absolutely beautiful Annette. So much blooming, so lovely, and I am so jealous. Enjoy your sweet collection of flowers. It will be 4 long months before I see anything that lovely in my yard.
Yes, I know the feeling, in my Swiss garden winter can sometimes take 6 months 🙈
Adorei as imagens!
Beautiful!
janicce.
Oh what a lovely post Annette … such beauty in your garden! Love the violas in that pretty vase! I see you have mastered the new editor! Lovely layouts 🙂
Aw, thank you so much, Julie, hope all is well at Frogpond Farm. Wishing you both a happy Christmas, hugs xx
Such beautiful flowers, lifts our spirits.
