This week we celebrate the first birthday of my book „Gartenträume“! It has been doing so well, and I’m very pleased with all the great feedback, reviews and personal messages from my faithful readers. Thank you all! No birthday without flowers, cake (just came out of the oven!) and a present: I’d like to give away a copy of my book, so if you fancy entering the raffle, just leave a message. All names will wander into a hat, and Monsieur will pick the winner on Monday 22nd August. The book is in German, obviously, but full of beautiful and inspirational photographs to enjoy. Today’s vase features Cosmos from my potager. They seed about and grow so abundantly that I can afford to pick a few 🙂 Thanks to Cathy for hosting the Vase on a Monday – pop over to her to see the awesome creations of my fellow bloggers. Diese Woche feiern wir den 1. Geburtstag meines Buches „Gartenträume“! Es kommt so gut an, und ich freue mich riesig über all das positive Feedback, die Buchkritiken und die lieben persönlichen Kommentare meiner treuen Lesern. Vielen Dank! Kein Geburtstag ohne Blumen, Kuchen (kommt gerade aus dem Ofen!) und Geschenk: Gern möchte ich eine Ausgabe des Buchs verschenken. Wenn ihr an der Verlosung teilnehmen möchtet, hinterlasst eine Nachricht. Alle Namen wandern in einen Hut, und Monsieur zieht den glücklichen Gewinner am Montag, den 22. August. In meiner heutigen Vase seht ihr Kosmeen aus meinem Gemüsegarten. Sie versamen sich und gedeihen übermütig, so dass ich sorglos welche pflücken kann 🙂 Danke an Cathy, die die Montagsvase ins Leben gerufen hat. You are the first person I know who has mentioned cosmos self seeding – is this a norm for you? Do we have to be less rigorous with deadheading?! Kosmeen gehören mit zu meinen Sommerlieblingsblumen, da kann ich nicht genug von haben, ich säe immer wieder ein paar neue aus und dann kommen ja auch die Wilderer. Dieses jahr habe ich eine neue Sorte Vanilla-Gelb mal ausprobiert, war skeptisch, aber sie ist wunderbar und harmoniert toll mit den anderen Sommerblumen, aber ich habe auch die altrosa Sorten, die immer so schön altmodisch sind.

Meinen Glückwunsch 🙂 Schmuckkörbchen finde ich auch so super, Schnecken haben einfach keine Lust auf sie und noch dazu gehören sie zu den wenigen allerletzten Blühern bis zum Frost. Das Foto mit Vase hat mich auf Facebook gleich neugierig gemacht. Schöne Grüsse

I did have cosmos in the garden a few years ago, but for some reason they did not self-seed that well. Which is too bad, because I really like them and the incredible lightness of being they spread. What, a year already … wasn’t it only recently that your book came out?! Congrats on your success, Annette. Your pictures are always special and stunning. Also natürlich gratuliere ich ganz herzlich zu diesem ersten Buchjahr! Dass das Buch so läuft, wundert mich überhaupt nicht, es ist einfach grosssartig! Ich wandere sehr gerne mit in diesen Hut, denn die beiden Exemplare die ich gekauft habe, sind schon dahin, sie waren als Geschenke gedacht ;-). Un abbraccio, Rachele

schon ein Jahr? Wahnsinn. Herzlichen Glückwunsch! Ich würde gerne mit in den Hut 🙂 Im Auenland blühen auch die Cosmeen. In pink und weiß und rosé … meterhoch. Ich liebe sie so sehr … und jedes Jahr sind sie wieder da und ich brauche die Pflänzchen nur da hinsetzen, wo ich so (auch noch) haben möchte.
