Those of you who have been following my blog for a while know how much I love Louis Lens roses. The Belgian rose breeder uses Rosa moschata and R. multiflora with the aim of creating healthy, vigorous and abundantly flowering roses. His creations are utterly charming, romantic and suit my wild garden style. Thanks to all the rain everything has been growing like never before. Especially the roses have put on a lot of growth and are so heavy with flowers that I had to cut an indecent amount to open up the paths. So for this week’s vase I’ve chosen ‚Bouquet Parfait‘ which to me is perfect indeed…or almost that is as it’s only weakly scented! Once cut it easily keeps for two weeks. Der belgische Züchter widmet sich den Moschata- und Multiflora -Rosen mit dem Ziel, gesunde, wüchsige und reichblühende Sorten hervorzubringen. Vor allem die Rosen sind so üppig und voller Blüten, dass ich etliche Triebe abschneiden musste, um die Wege freizulegen. In meiner Vase seht ihr ‚Bouquet Parfait‘, die tatsächlich perfekt ist…oder fast, denn duftmässig ist sie etwas schwach auf der Brust! In der Vase hält sie locker zwei Wochen. Yes, the rain makes all the difference although a few roses obviously don’t appreciate it.

Auch ich liebe Lens-Rosen liebe Annette, es ist Bienennahrung auf beste Art und Weise. Insgesamt hat es der Name in Deutschland manchmal nicht leicht. Denn viele sehen darin den Trivialnamen für Helleborus Lenzrose. LG Wurzerl
Das wusste ich nicht, schon komisch die Vorurteile 😉 wie du sagst stehen sie bei Insekten ganz hoch im Kurs. Bouquet Parfait vielleicht weniger, aber ich habe viele andere von Lens, die einfach umwerfend sind. Schöne Sommertage

We had a thunderstorm last night and 15 l of rain which is great as I had just finished mowing the lawn. We’re really enjoying the lushness although it also means a lot of cutting back. We can see now how much water most plants really need to be happy.

rain has boosted them. Your ‚Bouquet Parfait‘ looks similar to ‚Blush Noisette‘ which would never last two weeks on a vase! I wonder if Louis Lens’s roses are available in the UK?
