Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, and today is a gift, that is why it is called the present.

Januargrau. Dauerregen.
January grey. Steady rain. Land submerged. Time to dig up a beautiful memory, which is already a few days old but still fills my heart with joy. It was bitterly cold, ice flowers were blooming on the glass of the greenhouse, but inside my plants were sitting comfortably in the sweet smelling air. The sun was just rising behind the trees, grasses and rose hips were sparkling in the frost and it was so quiet…all I heard were the birds fluttering from one feeder to another. So not only today is a present but also yesterday. Before I take you on a walk through the winter garden, I want to present the winner of the book draw: Congratulations, dear Susanne Winkler 💐. And now let’s go…enjoy the pics and your weekend!

As always Annette, the beauty of your photos leaves me in awe! Hope you are well.
Thanks so much, Cindy, you haven’t posted in a while, I hope all is well with you too. Best wishes xx
All is well with me Annette, thank you kindly for asking. I simply have lost my desire to blog at the moment. Too many other important things on my mind right now. Plus, there are no flowers and no snow. So everything is brown or gray. Nothing worthy of a blog post for sure. I did redecorate a room, and maybe someday I’ll do a post on that while waiting for spring. Even though I’m not posting, don’t you stop. Your way with words and beautiful photos always make my day!
I‘m glad! And thank you for your lovely words. Take care x
You have painted as beautiful a picture in words as you have in these photographs.
Thank you so much, Susan, glad you’ve enjoyed it 🙂
Wunderschön!
That’s a great quote, Annette – thanks for your lovely January photos too
Pleasure, Cathy, it’s never been more important to look for pick-me-ups 🙂
Oh what fabulous photos as always Annette. I remain in awe of your photographic skills. They really capture the essence of a walk in a frosty winter garden. I imagine though that it was good to get back into the warmth ❄️😃
Thank you, Anna ☺️ yes, it was nice to get back to my tea afterwards. Although I don’t like the cold it’s definitely prettier than the rain.
Beautiful photos of your winter garden Annette. 😃 I love the quote. We must savour every special moment and remember these at intervalls to give us strength. 🌷
Couldn’t have put it into better words, Cathy. 🙏
Ich freue mich riesig!!! Habe noch nie was gewonnen, vielen Dank 🙂
Gorgeous quote and images, Annette 👏 although it gets more difficult by the day we have to keep reminding ourselves of the good things
thank you, Maureen, couldn’t agree more
Wonderful photos Annette and wise words. It is more challenging to live in the present right now as we long for freedom but yes, you are right, each moment is a gift.
I’m trying to motivate myself as the world sinks ever deeper into collective madness.
Delightful! Love these images Annette .. magic winter shots. And that quote is super ..
Thank you, Julie, it must be so different to your weather right now and if you could see me at the moment…completely snowed in🌨⛄️Hugs😘
Oh I can’t imagine that! Wow .. so different to the weather here! Hugs back at you 🌞🌼
