Oh spring, where are you? You come one day, next day you go away. I wonder will you ever stay? But not all is lost, as the cuckoo came back today!!! Have you heard him too? Same day as last year, mind you. We came back from Elba last night, so today’s vase is a tribute to this beautiful little island and its tiny spring flowers: Muscari, Lavandula stoechas, Lagurus ovatus, Chrysanthemum coronarium, Diplotaxis tenuifolia, Erica arborea…To make the holiday feeling last a little longer, I’m drinking espresso and treat myself to the last „Baci“, an Italian chocolate speciality reminding me of my youth. Each baci (=kisses/bacio=kiss) comes with its own love message and today’s says „In love the soul feels indomitable freedom“, so here’s to love…and spring! Thanks to Cathy for hosting IAVOAM, a meme that always brings a smile on my face. Wishing you a good week and happy Easter!
Even with spring bouncing in and out, your flowers are a delight…..I love how you displayed them in a heart and in the mug…..here too much snow on the ground still so no blooms yet enough for a vase.
oh dear, hope it won’t be long before you’ll find the first flowers 🙂
I love your heart-shaped arrangement. Lovely!
How beautiful. Hope you had a fun stay.
it was cool there too at times but we did a lot of hiking and it was great x
Wunderschön. ..Lyrik pur..?v
Herzlich,
Doris
What a wonderful way to display your pretty spring flowers, Annette! I hope spring will be back to stay soon and that you manage to preserve your post-holiday bliss through the entire week at least!
Thanks, Kris, I shall try even if it’s challenging in that horrible weather.
What a lovely idea, Annette, and so creative – and of course a nice touch that it was a tribute to the break you had just enjoyed. Like Kris satys, I hope you can maiantain this state for a little longer before you get sucked into your busy lfe again
I discovered Instagram and square format recently and I’m hooked. Must try to develop my creative streak even more as I enjoy it so much. Hope all is well and that the sun shines on you 🙂
Oh your post has bought back such fond memories Annette – when we were children our Italian grandmother always used to send us some delicious ‚Baci‘ chocolates in our Christmas parcel. They are still my favourite chocolates of all time 🙂 Your flower heart is a exquisite creation. A lovely post. Happy Easter and tanti baci to you xxx
Italian roots too, Anna, you keep surprising me! Glad you like the wreath, thanks for your lovely comment, tanti baci anche à te 🙂
Delightful wreath design, and the coffee and chocolate look good, too! Glad you had a nice holiday – hold onto that feeling as long as you can. 🙂
I shall try, Eliza, and thanks for your appreciation 🙂
Wildflowers and chocolates – what a lovely way to extend the holiday a little! 🙂 I hope your weather decides that spring has really arrived, as I’m sure the garden must be growing impatient too. Wishing you an Easter full of flowers!
Thank you, dear Amy, I suppose just by looking at the garden and ignoring the thermometer and soggy ground one could believe spring has arrived. Let’s hope things will come together eventually 🙂 Happy Easter!
Beautiful flowers and photos Annette! Such pretty arrangements. 🙂 Spring is always a little temperamental, but by Easter it will hopefully have settled in. In the meantime you can enjoy the rest of those chocolate ‚kisses‘ and dream about your holiday. 😉 Love your blue coffee cup!
It’s from Ikea, love it too. Forecast isn’t great, Cathy, and I’ve so much to do in the garden. It’s raining non-stop at present and the thought of pushing a wheelbarrow through the mud isn’t appealing…maybe I should go back to hibernating 😉 Have a good week xx
Rain here too… I always panic a bit at this time of year, but we always get things done, don’t we! 😉
Glad the weather was good for your visit; the climate is quite different to ours even though it is further north; there’s no sign of any of my lavender flowering.
They had snow and cold as well recently and the damage to the plants is quite shocking actually but once it gets warmer most things should recover. There was lots of Viburnum too which is always a great sight.
Oh how lovely to go to Elbe and to see all the spring flowers there. I love your flowers, specially the flower heart, what a lovely idea. Constant rain here too, what a bore.
Rain has stopped and we even have some sun today, bliss! So much to do in the garden, Liz, and it’s impossible with the soggy ground. Keep your chin up, we’ll get there 🙂
I love your first three sentences. and I relate to them too! We’re having a similar situation here. Your pictures are delightful. Happy Easter, Annette!
Sun came out this morning, it felt almost otherworldly. Let’s hope things will improve soon. Happy Easter to you both x
A good week and a very happy Easter to you lovely! Such a pretty vase too 😃
Hello my friend, hope all is well with you. It’s been so quite in your blog. Wonder if and how you celebrate Easter? Love to you both xx
