It’s Monday again and I’m delighted to be able to contribute to Cathy’s popular meme „In a Vase on a Monday“. Don’t forget to go over to her to see what others have put in their vases today. My vase features hips of rambling roses and some sprigs of Hypericum „Magical Beauty“. Much to the delight of the wild boars and our dog there’s also a bumper harvest of sweet chestnuts 😉
Hips
Shiny red jewels
delicious crop of yesteryear’s bloom
brightening November’s gloom
dew and frost make them sparkle
like precious gems –
our treasured winter friends.
Wishing you all a sunny, colourful autumn week 🙂
Hips are gorgeous. Love the way you photographed your vase today.
Thanks, Christina, it was coincidence – just a look out the study window and I loved the way the hips on the house wall framed the vase.
Delicate, seasonal, beautifully photographed!
Thanks a lot for your kind comment 🙂
Most appropriate words, Annette, and the hips are beautiful, especially the sprays of rambling rose ones. Hope you don’t mind sharing the chestnuts with your dog and the wild boars!
Oh no, I don’t, they’re so many and we actually don’t like them too much. Thanks for your appreciation and sorry, I didn’t stick to the theme 3 as I hadn’t seen your post last week.
Not to worry Annette – the theme wasn’t obligitory and you won’t be banned from posting future vases because of it… 😉
Lovely Annette! Those fuzzy chestnut coverings and shiny nuts are beautiful with the berries and hips. Happy autumn to you.
Thank you, Susie, chestnuts really are a work of art and who could resist those shiny hips?! 🙂
Your patio area is beautiful, so inviting festooned with the hips. Lovely plump chestnuts, too, I didn’t know dogs like them.
Thanks, Kate, I love that area of the garden a lot because it looks beautiful all year. Yes, our dog loves the chestnuts, she’s always hungry 😉
Not much color here in Sweden because everything is white from snow. 😊
Have a good week and enjoy the autumn colors.
Snow? Ups, so early – you can take Maya skiing then, I suppose. Keep warm 🙂
So pretty, Annette.
Your seasonal display is perfect for that setting, Annette. I love the overhead photos – it looks like an inviting place to sit a while.
This is so inspirational Annette. The hedgerows are full of hips here and you have made me want to collect some and display them in a stone vase. Beautifully photographed too – I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting to step into your photos.
Thanks for this lovely comment 🙂 A lot of the ground cover roses have pretty hips, they’ll be next!
Delightful, and lovely photos with the chestnuts. 🙂
Thank you, Cathy 🙂
Really gorgeous. Those rosehips simply glow, and the hypericum is very well named. It is indeed a magical beauty.
Hi Karen, how nice to see you in my garden. I’m not a friend of Hypericum but this one is rather delightful, never mind the yellow flowers. Best wishes x
Very pretty Annette. I love the idea of having an outdoor table arrangement.
so do I and shall make more when I get the chance
Gorgeous photos♥
That’s a beautiful seasonal cameo Annette. Those sweet chestnuts remind me of little prickly hedgehogs – how lucky you are to have such a crop.
Beautiful Annette .. Loving your Autumn
Dull and grey today, Julie, so not much to love about only maybe that it gives me the chance to catch up with work at my desk. I’d take your spring any time 😉
solch wunderbare Gartenplätzchen… da muss auch wunderbares wachsen, sowohl aus der Erde rings herum wie aus dem Geist, der da sitzt und denkt und träumt und gärtnert….
Liebe Annette,
tolle Hagebutten in deiner Vase!
I like your berry vase, so pretty. I also like your outdoor room. It is so inviting and spacious too. The mix of materials is a nice touch.
