Archive für den Monat: April, 2016

For the content of today’s vase -which you may recall from an early post featuring the scarlet elfencup-  I have to thank Monsieur who found these beautiful pearls on a string during a walk. Merci, Monsieur 🙂 We’ve had some strong winds, and small twigs of Hybrid Black Poplar (Populus x canadensis) are lying on the ground thus giving us the chance to appreciate their beauty which is normally well out reach. The trees are quite common around here (planted for timber) and can grow to 30m. I like their rustling leaves and golden autumn colour but their dark red flowers are equally delightful. Thanks to Cathy for hosting the vase – pop over to her for inspiration. Happy Monday!

First I’d like to thank you most kindly for leaving such nice comments on last week’s post (and always!). I’m very busy these days and can’t answer back but I’m sure you know that it’s greatly appreciated. 🙂  It’s Monday again and this time I’m in a rather poetic mood. Whereas the poet’s daffodils (Narcissus poeticus) in my garden have almost finished flowering, the wild things in our woods are just lifting their delicate, little heads. I think another week or two and the air will be filled with delicous perfume and I’ll be back to worship them. And they deserve to be worshipped because they are a poet’s dream! Thanks to Cathy for hosting the Vase on a Monday – make sure you visit her blog for plenty of flower power and inspiration. Have a great week!

How pale

Thy moonlit face

Shimmering like a 1000 stars

How red

Thy lips

Longing to be kissed.

A kiss – such bliss!

Like every year the gay and lavish days of spring just fly by. The daffodils are simply amazing this year and truly carry me through the day on yellow, glowing waves. In this case images say so much more than words that’s why I’d like to ask you to dance. Dance with the flowers that is! Besides it’s Monday, so I happily add my humble contribution to Cathy’s charming meme In a Vase on a Monday. Make sure you pop over to her – it’s always a joy to see what she and others put in their vases. Wishing you a great spring week and now let’s dance! 🙂
