I’m delighted to be able to join in with Cathy’s meme „In a vase on a monday“ today. Yep, I had to cheat a little and take the picture yesterday but what harm! Make sure you pop over to see what other bloggers have put in their vases, always a delight!
Ode to autumn
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eaves run;
To bend with apples the mossed cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For summer has o’er-brimmed their clammy cell.
- John Keats
Happy and mellow autumn days to all of you 🙂
Thank you Annette, timeless words and still such an inspiration.
A well chosen ode. Thanks for sharing
Lovely vase Annette. Happy autumn to you.
Oh what a beautiful poem…perfect as is your vase and photo showing the mellow light now.
Lovely autumn image, perfect for the beginning of November.
Wunderschönes Foto!
Viele Grüße, Doris
And a happy and mellow vase, Annette – the sprigs of berries and grass and foliage are a subtle extra. Thanks for sharing.
I love your interpretation of this meme Annette, really thoughtful and beautiful arrangement too.
Sehr schön arrangiert , Feines, Buntes, Mattes , Glänzendes.
Wunderschön auch der Gartenrundgang.
Herzlich,
Angela
The sun shining through the flowers kicks the whole arrangement into high gear.
Hey Annette …love those flowers 🙂 Happy Autumn to you … delightful image
That’s very pretty Annette, and still looks like late summer rather than autumn. Are you going to eat your pumpkin or is it for display only? 😉
eventually I’ll eat it…for now with my eyes only 😉
Welch ein schönes Stillleben und so wunderbare Worte. Vielen Dank! 🙂
Oh a most exquisite illustration to accompany Keats’s ode Annette. Sadly those warm days are beginning to cease although the honey bees are still on the wing. I was sorry to read that you are still having problems commenting via WordPress on my blog 😦 I’m giving serious thought to moving over to WordPress if I have spare time on my hands over the winter.
I love everything about this vignette, and what a fitting tribute to the season as well!
