25kg Glückseligkeit / 25kg of happiness

Ich bin im Glück, im Osterglockenhimmel…gelbgoldene, warme Blütenpracht ergiesst sich wie eine Wolke über den Hang im Obstgarten. Letztes Jahr pflanzte ich einen 25kg Sack englische Daffodils und voilà das Resultat:

I’m in heaven, I’m in heaven…daffodil heaven to be precise…golden yellow blossoms float like clouds over the slope in our orchard. Last year I planted a 25kg bag of mixed English daffodils and voilà the result:

So ein fröhlicher Anblick! Es haben sich bislang etwa zwei Drittel der Blüten geöffnet, also wird das Spektakel noch eine Weile anhalten.

Such a cheerful sight! Maybe two thirds of the flowers have opened so far, so the show will go on for another while.

Ist die einzelne Blüte nicht von ergreifender Perfektion?  The perfection of the individual flower is very touching, isn’t it?

Das Schöne ist, diese Blütenpracht ist erst der Anfang. Ich habe nämlich noch ein paar kg späte Narzissen, Alliums, Fritillarias etc. gepflanzt. Eine Mühe, die sich definitiv lohnt. Ein wenig wie Ostern, nur viel besser und kalorienärmer.  Ich freue mich, dass selbst meine Obergärtnerin äussert zufrieden ist…und glaubt mir, sie ist nur schwer zu befriedigen! 😉

The great thing is that this is just the beginning. I’ve also planted a few kg of late narcissi, alliums, fritillaries etc. An effort that’s worth it. A bit like Easter but far better and lower in calories.  I’m pleased to say that even my head gardener is satisfied…and believe me, she’s very hard to please! 😉
