To cheer myself up a little on this wet, grey day I’ve decided to join Cathy for her meme In a vase on a monday and promptly got into a rather poetical mood.
Sweet creature of the wood
White scented vest
Floating like a fairy
Whispering of spring.
Have a look at Cathy’s vase and be inspired. Maybe you want to join in too? I wish you a great week 🙂
Charming and cheery. Have a happy day Annette.
Thanks, Susie, it’s not as happy as I’d like it because of this atrocious weather but the picture certainly lifts my spirit!
Mal sehen, was die Woche bringt.
Liebe Grüsse an dich 🙂
I can’t think of anything nicer than a bunch of snowdrops. So fresh and pure and lovely. And congratulations again on your prize-winning photograph of your garden.
They touch our soul, don’t they, and although I don’t like picking them I felt I needed something to cheer me up with this dreadful weather. Hope it’s better where you are!
Rain, rain and more rain I’m afraid. Mud everywhere but everything in the garden is very early so there are compensations.
Just worried because our heavy soil doesn’t drain well 😦
But we can’t see what book you are reading!! Thanks so much for joining in, and isn’t it lovely that we all seem to be choosing snowdrops?! I am looking forward to having some to cut for a future vase.Did you plant yours, or were they naturalised before you came? ps I seem to have had a number of visitors who seem to have found me because of your blog – thanks 🙂
A woman has to have some secrets, Cathy! I picked them in a wood where there are millions…it’ll be a while before this is the case in my humble plot. 🙂
Millions!! One, two, miss a few….. I wonder how many I have?! You take care, Annette….
Hi Annette,
Lovely to see some snowdrops in bloom! Mine are still not quite open. Can’t wait until I have enough blooms for vases again 🙂
Hi Liz, same in my garden but I’m lucky and have this magical wood nearby…
What a beautiful scene Annette – I just love snowdrops! Most of mine are not flowering yet, so it is lovely to be able to enjoy yours!
Hi Julie, thank you – who doesn’t love them?! They are so brave and charming…and welcome too 🙂
A vase of snowdrops is hard to beat Annette and you must have really appreciated the scent. Is that pretty blue vase a milk jug?
Hi Anna, the scent is really delicious – it’s a yogurt pot. They do lovely ones in different colours in France, far too nice to throw away.
What a lovely vase of flowers – thanks for sharing and have a good week Annette! (With a little sunshine I hope) 😉
Thanks for the good wishes, Cathy, I’m afraid no change in site with the weather!
Pure and simple and beautiful. There’s something very humbling about the stoic little snowdrop battling it out in the cold and wet. I love your vase today. Hope your weather cheers up soon 🙂
Thanks, Sarahh, well said 🙂
Wunderbar.
How beautiful, I am strangely comforted that you don’t have such a wealth of snowdrops in your own garden, though presumably in time they clump up enough to be able to cut plenty for the house and still enjoy them outdoors. Something to aim for!
I hope they’ll clump and it’ll someday look like the magical wood nearby. At present they’re threatened by this awful rain though 😦 Thanks for calling in, Janet
We’ve got dreadful weather too. Can’t even muster the enthusiasm to do my seed order. That is such a beautiful display of snowdrops though. 🙂
Winter hasn’t been bad at all so far but this past week it’s been raining almost non-stop. Fingers crossed for both of us, Louise 🙂
Beautiful pictures. We are going back to Ontario in a few days. Snowdrops are not due for at least an other 2 months there, especially this year. I suppose you have to look at the bright side, and say that we will get 2 snowdrop seasons! Thank you for identifying the two shrubs on my blog Annette.
That’s what I call lucky, Alain. Up to now it’s a bit like that for us as we still have our garden in the Swiss Alps. Enjoy the trip 🙂
That is really a comforting image. It looks so cosy, warm and inviting.
Thank you, Donna 🙂
You’ve chosen a very pretty way to display these little wonders Annette. I hope the weekend is being good too you 🙂
Hi Angie, good to hear from you. Raining cats and dogs…but it’s supposed to clear up at lunchtime tomorrow. Hope for the best 🙂
Such lovely snowdrops. so simple and elegant in the blue vase.
Beautiful photograph and I love the words you’ve chosen!
Thank you, very kind 🙂
Chloris brought me to your blog. I love your arrangement of pretty teacup, yoghurt pot(?) with snowdrops. I have given it a go but not quite got it right. Next time. D
Hi, it’s actually a yoghurt pot – they make such lovely ones in France, all sorts of colours. I’m sure your arrangement is very pretty 🙂
